Looking for a peaceful holiday away from the crowds, with plenty of space and a real sense of freedom? Do you enjoy swimming, good food, easy company and active relaxation? Then Camping de la Bucherie might be exactly what you’re looking for. We’re a small, family-run campsite, Dutch owners, French countryside.

At our small-scale camping, personal attention comes naturally. The site sits in the rolling landscape of the northern Dordogne, on 6 hectares of land, of which 2.5 hectares are used for pitches, the rest is open space for the children to roam.

Tucked into the green heart of the Périgord Vert, at 330 metres altitude, summers here stay pleasantly cool. The shade of the surrounding forest and the elevation keep things comfortable even in July and August. The nights are quiet and dark. The stars here are worth looking up for.

Space, shade and privacy

Camping de la Bucherie has large pitches with plenty of privacy between them. Choose a shaded spot in the trees or a more open pitch with extra sun, whichever suits you. We have suitable pitches for tents, frame tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Prefer to arrive empty-handed? We have several rental accommodations: comfortable safari tents (with or without private bathroom), a gîte and a characterful gypsy wagon with private facilities.

Life at La Bucherie

At La Bucherie, life happens outside and at its own pace. No crowds, no noise, just nature, space and room to breathe. The atmosphere is open and unhurried. It’s the kind of place where you slow down without trying to.

Bar, restaurant and good things to eat

The campsite has a small bar and restaurant with a beautiful terrace, a good spot at any time of day. Come for a meal, a local beer or a sharing board of regional produce. We proudly serve the craft beer from the village’s own brewery, straight from the tap.

Several evenings a week we set up the long table for a shared dinner, relaxed, informal and always good fun. We bake pizzas, prepare full menus and always have vegetarian options. Ice creams too, of course.

The on-site wifi hotspot is available at the bar and restaurant area.

For the children

Children have plenty of space to play and explore freely. They can build dens in the woodland play area, play football, swim in the outdoor pool, play table tennis or jump on the trampoline. We organise activities from time to time, always in keeping with the relaxed spirit of the place.

Fresh bread can be ordered the evening before and collected each morning.

Facilities

The sanitary block is clean, well-maintained and cleaned several times a day. It includes toilets, showers, washbasins (open and in cubicles), dishwashing stations and laundry sinks. There is a baby room with a small bath and changing table, a family shower room with four showers and a child-sized toilet. Facilities for guests with reduced mobility are also available. A washing machine and dryer are on site.
